The Boston Globe - Minority-owned businesses are being left behind — again

Segun Idowu, Executive Director of Black Economic Council of Massachusetts, recently co-authored an op-ed in The Boston Globe calling out the Paycheck Protection Program, part of the federal CARES Act for supporting small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, for failing minority-owned small businesses. The article advocates for allocating a fund specifically for providing grants to minority-owned businesses and collecting data on the race and gender of PPP recipients to ensure fair distribution.
