WGBH - Small Business Owners Miss Out On First Wave Of Federal Loans Despite Applying Early & Following Up.

SBN Board Member Nicola Williams was recently featured on WGBH to describe her experience applying for federal funding through the Paycheck Protection Program for her business, The Williams Agency. She said that even though she applied through Cambridge Savings Bank on the first day the application opened and followed up with the bank, she found out she was not awarded a loan after the funding closed. Meanwhile, investigations have found that several larger companies and franchises did receive assistance. “I am quite resilient. Entrepreneurs of color and women, we can pivot. We learn how to pivot, so that’s what I’ll do,”
